Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was born in Los Angeles, California on November 18, 1985. Paul Felix, her father, was an ordained pastor at Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix's talent for athletics was evident right from the day she was enrolled at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within a short time after her first attempt, Felix was 2nd in the 200-meter race at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix was a high school graduate when she graduated from school in 2003, signed an agreement with Adidas. After that, she was accepted into at the University of Southern California and completed her studies in elementary education. The first Olympic medal was won at the 2004 Summer Olympics, at Athens Greece. Felix set an international junior record the 200m race in 22.18 secs. In 2005, she was the youngest 200-meter world champion during the Helsinki World Championships. She defended this title in 2007, defeating her long-time Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix had a steady performance in London, Beijing Rio de Janeiro, and Tokyo. She always finished at the top of the podium in the events.
