Allyson Felix

Allyson Nicole Felix was born on November 18 the 18th of November, 1985, in Los Angeles. Felix's father Paul Felix is an ordained Minister at Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. And her mother Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix was a natural athlete and found her passion for sprinting at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Following her initial audition she was ranked in the top two at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships for the 200 meters in a mere 10 weeks. Felix finished high school in 2003, and was signed by Adidas a contract as a professional athlete. The following year she enrolled at the University of Southern California studying elementary education. Felix's first Olympic medal came during the 2004 Summer Olympics held at Athens Greece. Felix set the world junior record by the 200m race in 22.18 seconds. The year 2005 was the time she was the youngest world champion of 200 meters at the Helsinki World Championships. She defended this title in 2007, defeating her former Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix was a regular competitor in London, Beijing Rio de Janeiro, and Tokyo. She was consistently within the top three places of every event.
